For sporty driving (e.g. Rallye or mountain driving), a differential with a short gear ratio is recommended to achieve faster acceleration.
For normal and relaxed driving, a differential with a long gear ratio is recommended to achieve higher speed.
The deposit can only be refunded if only the bearing and the bevel gear are damaged. If the housing or the differential carrier are broken or cracked, the differential cannot be serviced and we must keep the deposit.
