New gearbox with long 5th gear without attachments Fiat 124 Spider, 124 Coupé (+700€ deposit)
Product information "New gearbox with long 5th gear without attachments Fiat 124 Spider, 124 Coupé (+700€ deposit)"
The transmission is a new one from old stock. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears have finer gearing, resulting in lower overall noise levels than the original. Compared to the original, the 5th gear has a higher gear ratio by approximately 500 rpm, so that instead of the original 300 rpm between 4th and 5th gears, the engine speed drops by approximately 800 rpm. This is a noticeable change. Because it's a new transmission and we start from 0, the noise is often significantly lower. Please DO NOT compare with current vehicles, as this transmission design also dates back to the early 1960s!
We only deliver the transmissions completely ready for installation! For this, we need the following CLEANED parts from your old transmission:
1. Transmission bell housing
2. Rear transmission housing
3. Shift collar
4. All three shift rods
We also offer a complete conversion! Please contact us for more information.
You can find further information in the installation instructions!

ATTENTION: Only mineral gear oil 85/W 90 (article no. 1092004) may be used. Approx. 1.8 litres are required. The gearbox oil must be changed after approx. 500-1500 km, as increased wear occurs when the new gearbox is run in and this can lead to irritations when changing gears. Give your new gearbox time to run in during the first 1,500 km so that you can enjoy it for a long time.
Fill the gearbox oil at the green arrow, not at the upper one, which is crossed out in red!
